My Story

Creativity runs in my veins, I can't imagine not having art in my life.

I was born and raised in Hampshire, England, the youngest of four children. I was definitely the quiet one, the observer.

I would invite myself into my Dad's workshop and sit mesmerized as I watched him work as a jeweller and watchmaker. That thirst for knowledge, to experiment and to learn, is what drives my love of art. I took everything in, watching my Mum paint and tend to her gorgeous, wonderfully wild, and vibrant garden. I have my Mum to thank for nurturing my need to explore and play through art from a very young age. My passion to create, make, draw and paint has never left me.

After spending 15 years working in the mental health field, I took my career into a totally different direction and started an apprenticeship under an incredibly patient teacher... my Dad. That was a very special time in my life. It was such a gift to gain so much knowledge of jeweller-making and repair and to do it all while sitting side by side talking about family, history and just being together.

My journey was to take another direction when I met my wonderful husband, a submariner serving in the Canadian Navy, and so found myself moving to Canada in 2004.

I had the pleasure of living in Halifax, NS, and Victoria, BC, before finally settling in Ottawa, ON, where I now live with my husband and our two youngest daughters. We are blessed with six children and four grandchildren.

I love long dog walks, cat cuddles, and of course, spending time in my studio creating art.
